As I had a 9am meeting with the IT department, I was at
breakfast earlier than usual, and did not hang around to chat. After the
meeting, I met up with Jane at the congress venue to discuss the various options
available to us with respect to the website. That took until almost lunch so it
was not worth going back to the hotel as we had the Board Meeting starting at
12:30pm.
After the Board meeting, which went for two and a half
hours, Jane and I had a wander around the exhibition which lasted all of about
two minutes. Whilst Jane stayed to liaise, I headed home.
I was supposed to attend the French reception at the
French Embassy as the guest of one of my Canadian colleagues, but due to the late-night
last night, I decided to stay in. Instead, I attended the Taiwanese reception
here at the hotel where I was able to have a few nibbles and a glass of
not-too-shabby red wine, before it was time to have a long read of the inside
of my eyelids.
Tomorrow is going to be a very L-O-N-G day.
